~~~ Homespun Antique French Poupee Afternoon Gown ~~~

Very beautiful two piece homespun fashion afternoon gown of light brown cotton fully ornate with fine lace around edged of jacket and bustle skirt.

Would fit well for a French fashion doll around 16" / 17" ( 41 - 43 cm ) ..... on pretty costume with hip-length over jacket which has long small inset sleeves , nice pleated sides and an elaborately constructed rear bustle which is fully of small pleats .

The long skirt has narrow pleats at hemline extending in a full train and both are beautiful ornate of richly bordered with tiny pleats . The hand made lace has rare tray edged and ornate the over jacket and sleeves all around.

To close at front of jacket with hooks and hand made tiny loops similar at skirt waistline which is also to close with hook and hand made loops.

Very beautiful afternoon gown with elegant look , made in France circa 1880 . Generally excellent condition to age .... note small different color parts and water stains which are not disturbing.

Has circa 5" shoulder width ( 13 cm ) and circa 9" ( 23 cm ) waist around . Sleeves length from shoulder included lace circa 5,5" ( 14 cm ) and total length of gown from shoulder ... circa 14,5" ( 37 cm )
