Superb French Pique Bebe Costume with matching Bonnet

Very beautiful most hand sewn one of a kind French pique dress with matching wire bonnet , would fit for German or French doll like size 12 Jumeau around 25" ( 64 cm ) The costume has generally excellent fabric condition from around 1880 .......

Of cream white cotton pique with all hand sewn soutache trim decoration and hand made cotton lace around one side edged of front and all around hem. Princess style with 3/4 long sleeves has ruffled puff with soutache decoration similar the sleeve wrist. Hand ruffled front part with rounded neckline and collar at back. Beautiful aqua blue silk cord ornate the neckline and collar , the back side has silk cord rosettes . The dress is a little longer at back and a small hope skirt cage inside hold it in form for a small bustle .

Finally ornate with a pretty aqua blue silk bow and hand made silk ribbon work flowers at left front side and a flowers circle at the other . Front closure with hooks and eyes inside the dress and hand made button at front.

To the pretty dress belongs a all complete hand made high brim bonnet which is fully ornate with rows of pleats and ruffles around the head , two row of hand embroidery muslin ornate the high brim and neckline. A small rack of wire inside hold the bonnet always in perfect form and with an large aqua blue silk bow decoration and wax flowers bouquet has this bonnet the perfect look matching to the dress.

Total length from neck to hem .... circa 14,5" ( 37 cm ) Shoulder to shoulder ............ circa 6,5" ( 17 cm ) Waist around ........... circa 16,5" ( 42 cm )
