~~~ Lovely French Bisque Candy Container Doll / from 19th. Century ~~~

Very nice all original French 19th. century candy container doll " [[ boite a bon-bons ]] " about circa 8" ( 20 cm ) in all original condition with bisque head of very nice and pale quality , has blue inset glass eyes with fine painted lashes and single brows. Open mouth with tiny porcelain teeth and pretty original blonde curled mohair wig which was never removed from the head.

Has hollow cardboard cylinder torso which separates to form a candy box , with paper mache legs and wire upper arms with bisque fore arms . Note a tiny missing piece at one finger tip .... otherwise all perfect and free of damage , repair , hairline or chip !!

Very nice costumed in a light blue and cream silk party costume with silk pom-pom and fancy high bonnet , original stocking and shoes. Note melting parts at the original costume as you can see on my pictures.

As special information ....... the candy box dolls continued the 19th . century tradition of lavish presentation of candies in a luxury manner . Very nice and rare to find .................
