Rare and very beautiful all original antique French musical automaton by Leopold Lambert .... France circa 1890 .... called " Bebe Niche " which was list as No. 35 in the Lambert catalog at 19th. century !
Well working automaton with bisque head doll by Emile Jumeau which standing up an red velvet covered base who appears to hold a wicker puppy cage in her left hand and a string attached to the cage door in her right . Has total size about 19" ( 48 cm )
The pretty bisque girl has flat cut neck socket with best quality of bisque and painting. Has pretty amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes with fine painted lashes and brush stroked brows. With closed mouth with fine shaded and accented lips , pierced ears and original brunette mohair wig over cork pate .
Head mark at back : Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 4 and artist check mark
Head condition are generally excellent and free of damage , chip , hairline or repair !!
She has original carton torso and legs , wire upper arms with bisque forearms in perfect condition and wears all factory original frail silk costume from the couturier workshops of Eugenie Lambert !!!

When the original Lambert key is turned and lever released ..... a series of synchronic movements occur . The doll turns her head to the right and nods down at the cage , then turns her head back and forth several times . Finally to the right while nodding , then her right hands thumps the cage as though waking the lovely puppy ...... then she nods again and her right arm raises to lift the cage door. The lovely puppy is a paper mache doggy with kid cover ..... it leaps forward at twice and this mouth opening , as though eager to leave the cage . Music plays well according to original paper label .
An rare to find all original automaton .... very beautiful treasure for each collection !!!
