Superb French Silk Velvet Bebe Costume with Bonnet

Very beautiful one of a kind silk velvet costume for French Bebe around 21"/ 22" ( 54 to 56 cm ) , most hand sewn and in generally excellent fabric condition from around 1880...... note small color different on the lace but not disturbing !!

Of stunning midnight blue silk velvet and lot of hand embroidered parts of velvet , has hand made ruffled silk front and longer side parts in princess style. Embroidered shoulder puff at both of the long sleeves .Rounded neckline with full hand embroidered collar , shorter upper back to waistline with box pleated dark blue silk matching to the front part. Has large lace ruffled row under pleated dark blue silk around the hem .

Insode fully lined with soft striped cotton and has front closure at sides with hooks and eyes.

A pretty all hand made couture bonnet of the same midnight blue silk velvet belongs to the gown . The bonnet has high head and pretty lace ruffled rows all around the front . Fine silk flowers bouquet and inside lined with cotton. A rack of wire inside hold the bonnet always in perfect form !!
