Outstanding and very rare to find all original 18" ( 45 cm ) bisque Bebe by Maison Jumeau from the rare 200ter character series " Fantastique " of double face Bebe with laughing and crying expression !! Has best quality of bisque and painting with wonderful deep modeling and very expressive of both faces .

The laughing face are from character series 203 and the crying face are from the series 211
For me it is heavy to say which face side are my favorite .... the happy face or the crying expression , both are very beautiful and so unusual !!
The laughing bisque head side has beautiful round inset blue glass paperweight eyes with dark eyeliner and finest painted lashes and feathered brows . She has an closed mouth in very wide smile with outlined lips and finest modeling of row of porcelain teeth and has lovely impressed dimples !!
The second face side of crying child has wonderful deep modeling of dramatized features with very narrow blue glass inset eyes with modeled eye lids and finest painting of long lashes and brushstroked brows . Her mouth are closed with modeled as though open in crying expression with shaded lips and row of porcelain teeth . Has sculpted tongue and it seems you can hear her crying ..... !!
The bisque head are pale with un pierced ears and has original attached blonde mohair wig .
The rare doll has her original composition and wooden fully jointed body with original body finish , anmodeled headboard wher the bisque haed are hold inside with the original wire mechanisem . By turning the lever you can move the head to show the crying or laughing face !!
She is wearing all factory original Jumeau costume in pink silk and chemise with bloomers as under wearing , Jumeau socks and shoes . Finally treasure an outstanding cream silk bonnet ............
All complete from Jumeau Factory .... France around 1890 from rare character series by Emile Jumeau. Head mark .... size 7 ( at both neck sides ) . Has generaly excellent condition and is free of hairline , damage , chip or repair ! Body has original finish and is generally excellent as well .....
Preserved in her Jumeau factory presenation box mark size 7 which has condition as is ...
