Rare to find French bisque character Bebe ... called " Bebe Francais " from Maison Jumeau circa 1888 / 90 created at the same time as Jumeau constructed his rare 200 character series and the " Bebe Francais " got the same facial expression from the same mold which was used by the 225 model !!
She is an unusual model from Jumeau about 27" ( 68 cm ) in total and has special rare facial character expression of finest pale quality bisque socket head with deep modeling and pretty blue glass paperweight inset eyes . Dark encircling eyeliner , painted lashes and brush - stroked and multi-feathered brows. Has accented nostrils and eye corners and a closed mouth with outlined lips .
She has pierced ears and a lovely curled blonde mohair wig .... missing cork pate.
Head mark ; B. 12 F. and artist check mark by Maison Jumeau , the bisque is generally excellent in condition !! Free of damage , chip , hairline or repair . To note a old micro top layer chip in her glaze , not disturbing and caused by removing her wig before .
She has here original French composition and wooden fully jointed body with original body finish in good condition to age and Jumeau manner , has small well done color refresh at her arm and leg balls .
Superb wearing with muslin blouse and rose silk gown , lovely set of undergarments with stocking and French rose shoes. Finally she has a wonderful flowers head circle in pink and cream ....
Wonderful and rare to find Bebe by Maison Jumeau with Character expression , ready to display and enjoy in your cabinet and collection !! A dream come true for Jumeau fans ... :))
